The Victoria Tea Room has a special place in the hearts of cruisers from Shelter Island. Not only were we (12 of us) graciously accommodated for dinner, we had responsive and wonderful service. The food- especially the fish dishes, were spectacular! Can't thank them enough!
The tea selection is soooo impressive! I also like how they give you a timer for your tea so you don't steep it too long. I had a crepe there as well, and it was fabulous!
Overall a great location and good food, but the staff and especially the owners, have a real NASTY attitude! We were greeted by a rude girl who told us there is a wait for outside seating. We asked for an estimate on the wait and she snapped back that we need to ask the hostess and walked away. We spoke to the hostess and were seated about 30 mins later. Appetizers and food were good, except the $48 flounder which was over cooked and dry. We complained to the waitress, who was a very sweet girl, but a few minutes later, the owner's wife came over to our table with scowl on her face and a real attitude. Without introducing herself, she looked at me and said "so what do you want to do here?!?" No apology, nothing! Her husband was standing behind her as if he was expecting a brawl to break out. Again, no introduction, apology or conversation. They both had the personality of a tree stump! In summary, great location, beautiful views from the outside tables, rude staff driven by the money grubbing owners!

Delicious restaurant in adorable Watch Hill. There are only a few sit-down restaurants and the over 100-year old Olympia is the best. The menu is wide and includes raw seafood as well as favorites such as hamburgers and fire grilled pizza.
Show up right before sunset, and start drinking. Get a bit tipsy. Then as the sunset happens, get a little food in you.
